I finally understand why I didn't dare to resist when I was in middle school, and no one cared about me. Although I reached out to all my relatives, I didn't have a household registration, so I didn't exist in this society; I wasn't even considered human. Without a household registration, I'm worse off than a black person. I only got my household registration because of my student status. If I get beaten by someone, I deserve it; if I die, I deserve that too, because I have no belonging, no nationality, and when I die, no one will care about me. So I think in order to survive, I can only obey those who are powerful. Indeed, after I obey, I don't even have to spend money on food; I can eat a lot of HT pies, which are much better than the food at home. I can't even eat dumplings twice a year at home. Usually, it's just porridge, steamed buns, and potato slices, so the so-called family actually treats me worse than an outside gang leader.
