The application was submitted by Daniel Schweiger, the CEO of BlackRock, who was previously in charge of registering the first iShares Ether fund in 2023. Earlier, Nasdaq filed an amendment in July, intending to add staking functionality to the existing iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). ETHA currently manages assets of nearly $11.5 billion, making it the largest Ethereum ETF fund on the market.
