Elon's at it again—just dropped X Chat, calling it the "WhatsApp killer." Claims it uses Bitcoin-style peer-to-peer encryption with zero advertising hooks, unlike competitors.

The pitch: no data collection, no ad targeting, full privacy on texts, files, audio and video calls. Musk reckons it's "the least insecure messaging system" out there.

But here's the thing—WhatsApp clapped back immediately, saying their DMs are already end-to-end encrypted and they don't harvest data for ads either. Meanwhile, the crypto community's split: some hyped it as overdue competition, others questioning if X Chat actually needs a third-party security audit before trusting it. Experts also pointed out Bitcoin-style encryption doesn't really mean what Musk thinks it means.
