At every industry gathering, I am the one who is focused on eating until the event ends.
Friends outside the circle may not understand, but in the trading industry, it really often means going hungry. When the market is bad, you can only manage one meal a day, and the rest of the time you're basically starving — either you're glued to the screen and can't get away, or you're losing badly and have no appetite at all.
So whenever there's a meal gathering, we must make sure to get our money's worth. Not to mention, this feeling of "hunger" is just a trader's occupational hazard.

Haha, really, who understands the feeling of staring at the market until you're so hungry you feel dizzy?
---
That's why our gatherings always end up fighting for food.
---
The market is falling sharply, and people are also feeling down, what else can we eat?
---
Burying my head in food is the last joy of a trader.
---
Half of a month's salary has been spent on meals.
---
The occupational hazard is a big appetite, there's no helping it.
---
I understand, not eating when there's food is like courting death.
---
It's too extreme, I can't stop at all.
---
Every time I see dessert, I want to cry, finally can eat it.
---
I'll eat whatever is left on the plate, not picky anymore.

Haha, I found the organization now. I'm also the type who stares at the market until I forget to eat, and after getting liquidated, I have even less appetite.

Haha, this is the norm for traders. Watching the market for three hours without eating is basic operation.

Staring at the market to the point of forgetting to eat is indeed a common issue among traders. However, your "recoup investment" logic is, in a way, replicating the arbitrage mentality of the market—decision-making efficiency is highest when in a state of hunger.

Haha, this is what you call a professional disease, being so focused on the market that you get so hungry your vision goes dark.

Haha, me too. When the market is volatile, I forget to eat. It's only comfortable when I can eat enough to lean against the wall after a gathering.

Haha, this is a true portrayal of traders. When the market moves, you can't even think about eating.
Speaking of which, your industry is indeed competitive. My fren is the same; when losing money, they can't eat a single bite.
This occupational hazard needs to be addressed; you can't let your health deteriorate.
At gatherings, you should eat to recoup investment, making a killing instead of losing.
