Don't remind me again today

What's the one piece of perpetual futures trading wisdom that actually saved your portfolio?

Been watching too many traders get rekt chasing leverage dreams. Looking for real talk here - not the generic "manage your risk" stuff everyone parrots.

What's that specific strategy, mindset shift, or hard-learned lesson that changed how you approach perps? The kind of advice you'd tell your past self before that first liquidation hit.

Stop loss has really saved me so many times, I dare not count.

Stop loss has really saved me, no exceptions. It's not the textbook kind of stop loss, but the ruthless kind. --- I used to want to gamble to make back my losses, but ended up sinking deeper. Later I realized that the real deal is to preserve the green mountains. --- Don't leverage for quick money anymore, really. I've seen too many contracts get liquidated. --- The key is the mindset, right? It's not some secret weapon. Knowing when to admit defeat is much harder than you think. --- Honestly, I just set my position and go to sleep, living the longest without staring at the charts. --- The higher the leverage, the greater the risk. It sounds like a cliché, but it's really hard to do. I paid a lot in tuition before I understood. --- Fund management is a thousand times more important than choosing coins, but no one wants to hear that.

Stop loss has really saved me; not setting a stop loss is just a gambler's mentality.

Never play with leverage when the contract code hasn't been audited thoroughly. I've seen too many exchanges with flaws in their liquidation logic; a single reentrancy vulnerability can wipe out your position.

ngl the moment i stopped thinking in pnl and started mapping liquidity cascades was honestly the shift. everyone's obsessed with leverage multiples but like... nobody's actually tracking where the exit liquidity dies. that's where the real rekt happens fr
