Large investors are massively selling Bitcoin, leading to a surge in deposit volumes on exchanges.

According to data from the on-chain analysis platform CryptoQuant(, after Bitcoin once dropped to $82,000, on November 21 alone, 9,000 BTC), approximately 1.2 trillion won(, moved to exchanges, of which 45% came from large addresses holding more than 100 BTC.

In November, the average BTC deposit amount reached 1.23 BTC, marking the highest level in a year, which is double the figure of 0.6 BTC from a week ago. Notably, on major exchanges, the average deposit amount surged from 12 BTC at the beginning of November to a recent 37 BTC, interpreted as a sign that large investors are reducing their Bitcoin holdings. Julio Moreno, head of research at CryptoQuant, analyzed that “selling pressure has been increasing since early October, and price decline pressure continues.”

On the other hand, Ethereum is also experiencing strong selling pressure from large investors, leading to an increase in inflows to exchanges. While Ethereum briefly dropped to $2600, the daily average deposit amount reached 41.7 ETH, marking the highest level in three years. CryptoQuant warned that during this downturn, inflows of altcoins to exchanges are becoming active as well, and the movements of large investors are affecting the cryptocurrency market as a whole.
