# The AI industry is really going to da moon.

Citigroup's latest report throws out a figure: by 2030, global AI industry revenue is expected to exceed $975 billion. What does this mean? Currently (in 2025), it is only $43 billion, growing 22 times in 5 years, with a compound annual growth rate of 86%.

In simple terms, it means that companies are now starting to spend money like crazy on AI, and this wave of commercialization has really arrived. Just look at the actions of those tech giants to know this:

**The giants are frantically piling up chips and data centers**
- Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon are increasing capital expenditures.
- Just to seize this territory of AI infrastructure

**How exaggerated is money**
- Major cloud vendors in the U.S. are set to invest $4.4 trillion from 2026 to 2030.
- Global total investment is expected to be $7.75 trillion.

What does this mean? AI is no longer just a PPT concept, but a real investment in infrastructure. Whoever can secure a position in this wave of infrastructure will be able to reap the industrial dividends. The question is, with so much money being poured in, how many viable applications will actually emerge?
