According to Xinhua News Agency, a new type of scam that uses fake "tasting cards" to divert traffic for telecom network fraud has appeared in multiple regions across the country. The scam gang distributes counterfeit supermarket "tasting cards" to lure victims into scanning QR codes and joining so-called "benefit groups," then carrying out transfer rebate scams. Shandong police have already cracked multiple related cases and arrested several suspects. According to investigations, the criminals use overseas communication software to contact their online operators and settle criminal proceeds through virtual currencies, making them highly covert. The police remind the public that this type of scam is highly deceptive; people should stay alert, avoid scanning QR codes from unknown sources, not disclose personal information to unfamiliar platforms, and prevent financial losses.
