According to a report by Decrypt on June 12, Deep Tide TechFlow announced that the "Operation Secure" led by Interpol successfully targeted a malware network involved in information theft. Law enforcement agencies from 26 countries joined forces, arresting a total of 32 suspects, including 18 from Vietnam, 12 from Sri Lanka, and 2 from Nauru. The operation shut down over 20,000 malicious IPs and domain names, and seized more than 100GB of data from 41 servers, effectively neutralizing 79% of the identified suspicious IP addresses.
This type of malware is primarily used to steal browser credentials, passwords, credit card information, and cryptocurrency wallet data. Law enforcement has notified over 216,000 victims and potential victims to take security measures.
