According to a report by The Economic Times on June 20, Deep Tide TechFlow news states that the Norwegian government plans to temporarily ban the construction of new data centers for crypto mining using high-energy-consuming technologies to ensure electricity supply for other industries. This temporary ban may be implemented in the autumn of 2025.
Norwegian Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration Karianne Tung stated: "The Labour Party government clearly intends to limit crypto mining activities in Norway as much as possible." She added that crypto mining consumes a lot of electricity, but the jobs and income it creates for local communities are limited.
