【Block Pulse】On June 25th, it was reported by a credible source that the pardon of Zhao Changpeng (CZ), the founder of a certain trading platform, has been approved by Trump.
In March of this year, The Wall Street Journal reported that a certain trading platform was discussing injecting funds into the Trump family’s cryptocurrency project World Liberty Financial in exchange for a pardon from CZ. At the same time, it was stated that the Trump family had been negotiating to invest in the US branch of a certain trading platform. However, CZ denied this at the time. In May of this year, CZ announced that he had applied for a pardon from Trump.
In May 2024, in a federal court in the United States, CZ was sentenced to 4 months in prison for money laundering violations and violating US sanctions, and was released in September.
Although CZ has completed his sentence and paid a hefty fine, a presidential pardon will not completely erase the charges, but it may restore some rights, such as allowing CZ to return to the management of a certain trading platform.
