Recently, I went through the data and found that Waymo has been quite strong in the ride-hailing market in several cities in the United States over the past few years. From 2023 until now, it has been competing with the two giants, Lyft and Uber, and its market share has been rising.
To be honest, after looking at this trend, I feel that autonomous driving may no longer be a distant science fiction. The maturity of the technology is evident, and user acceptance is also on the rise. In a few years, driverless cars might just become the norm on the streets.
However, that being said, if this wave of technological revolution really arrives, the impact on the traditional transportation industry will definitely be significant. What will happen to drivers? How will regulation keep up? These are all questions. But that's how the market works; new things will always push out the old ones, and survival of the fittest.

Waymo takes down Uber? I have high hopes, but what about all those unemployed ride-hailing drivers?

Waymo is really about to break through, I said this is a major bottom signal! I have already increased the position, and it seems to be right now. The concept of autonomous driving is rising, Full Position hold steady.

Well... Waymo's momentum is indeed strong, but I'm still a bit skeptical.
However, speaking of which, if autonomous vehicles really take off, those part-time Didi drivers will be in trouble.

Waymo really has something going on now, can it actually gain market share by going head-to-head with Uber?

Hi, Waymo is really slowly eating into the market share, this wave is quite intense.
Wait a minute, driverless cars everywhere? How are Uber drivers going to survive? The impact of this might be greater than we imagine.
Having the technology in place is one thing, but the real trouble lies in the legal aspect, with each state acting independently.
That said, there are pros and cons, what is bound to happen eventually is starting to shake things up now.
Waymo's move is quite steady, much smarter than TSL.

Waymo's data is indeed impressive, but what I care more about is when it can be fully rolled out; it's still too limited for now.
