A harsh statement came from U.S. Secretary of State Rubio. He emphasized that the European Union does not have the right to unilaterally interpret international law. He clearly stated that the EU cannot decide how America will shape its national security strategies. Washington seeks complete independence in determining its own security priorities.

The U.S. is really not giving the EU any face now; this attitude is incredible.

What is the US implying here? Are they serious about directly confronting the EU?

The United States is setting rules for the European Union, openly stating that no one should interrupt its business.

The US has started to throw a tantrum again, which basically means they don't want to listen to the EU and want to make their own decisions.

honestly rubio's just stating the obvious here... every nation-state fundamentally operates on the principle that its security parameters are non-negotiable. the EU thinking they can dictate US strategic implementation is frankly laughable from a game theory perspective. sovereignty isn't exactly a novel concept

The United States is starting to act tough again, which basically means they don't want to be constrained by the European Union.

The US is saying "Mind your own business," typical of a big power attitude.
