The wave of decentralized social networking is surging, promising users complete ownership and genuine interactions. It sounds wonderful, but what about reality? An invisible problem is eroding the entire ecosystem—data fraud.

Imagine building a grand cathedral on quicksand. No matter how magnificent the exterior, if the foundation is rotten, the entire structure will eventually collapse. SocialFi is the same. Fake accounts, manipulated interaction data, fabricated reviews—each one is undermining the most fundamental trust among users. And trust? It is the lifeblood of social networks.

Robot accounts run rampant, false metrics fill the air, and fake reviews flood the platform. These seemingly small issues are actually dismantling the credibility of the entire ecosystem. When you can't tell which interactions are real and which are fabricated, what value does the platform have? Users will flee, projects will collapse. Once trust is lost, it’s very difficult to rebuild.

Building on quicksand, it will collapse sooner or later --- Another beautiful vision, but in reality it's all bots doing fake transactions --- Trust is gone, everything is a waste --- I get annoyed looking at a bunch of fake data, why isn't anyone regulating this --- SocialFi, this scheme, is really just a big pie in the sky --- Decentralization can't save these scammers either --- These days, who still trusts platform data, it's all fake --- Fake accounts are everywhere, how can I find real people to interact with --- The foundation is rotten, no matter how fancy the surface, it’s useless --- There are more bots than real people, it's too outrageous

ngl this is exactly the capitulation signal i've been waiting for. everyone's been hyperventilating about "true ownership" but the foundation is just... bot farms and fake engagement metrics. classic weak hands territory. the smart money already exited these plays tbh.

Building houses on quicksand, that's a perfect metaphor... Who still believes in the data of socialfi now?

Building on quicksand indeed collapses with a single poke, and many projects are like that now.

If the foundation is rotten, no matter how good it looks, it has to collapse.
