As 2026 approaches, discussions about the altcoin market are dwindling. A quick observation reveals that the entire market's gains are essentially monopolized by Bitcoin and Ethereum, with only a few of the top 100 coins truly breaking their all-time highs.

Behind this phenomenon lies a problem: when only the leading coins have the potential for rapid wealth, do retail investors still have the motivation to participate? Without the stories of "high returns with low multiples" in altcoins, investors lose their reasons to enter the market, and capital flow inevitably becomes more concentrated.

The result is a continuous shrinkage of liquidity. Large investors no longer find new opportunities to profit, small and medium investors get neither the meat nor the broth, only left with scraps. If this continues, Bitcoin's吸金效应 will become increasingly strong, but the overall ecosystem's participation enthusiasm will actually decline. In the long run, when liquidity dries up to a certain point, the risk of a collapse will also increase.

They've been drained by BTC and ETH, retail investors might as well give up, it's long overdue to wake up. Altcoins have no stories left, funds are flowing in one direction, liquidity is really getting worse. That's right, big players have no new tricks, the middle-tier investors are the most miserable. The day liquidity dries up and crashes happen is not far off, feeling a bit anxious. The siphon effect of BTC is too strong, other coins simply can't turn things around. If the ecosystem continues like this, what attraction is left? So boring. Coins that have hit all-time highs can be counted on one hand, too few. Retail investors see no profit, how can the ecosystem survive? This is a hard-hitting question. The feeling of eating leftovers is really uncomfortable.

Isn't this a typical case of "winner takes all" governance failure? There are countless examples in history where DAO incentive mechanisms have failed. The issue isn't about how much the coin is worth; it's about the lack of an effective risk diversification mechanism.

All the altcoins are dead; who still expects a comeback?

That's the problem. Without a profit effect, who would still play with altcoins? Bitcoin is eating the meat, Ethereum is drinking the soup, but we can't even get a sip. Liquidity is really dying; it feels like we're waiting for a big plunge. It should have been like this a long time ago—flush out all those worthless coins. Retail investors should wake up; not every coin has a dream of getting rich. If this continues, either go all in on BTC or quit the circle altogether. Altcoins are dead, and the dream is shattered.

Altcoins are dead, I saw it coming a long time ago. Now it's just Bitcoin and Ethereum's duet.

It's only BTC and ETH that are gaining, retail investors have become spectators. Altcoins have no stories and no popularity, who would dare to enter? When liquidity dries up completely, the crash will truly come. It feels like the entire ecosystem is increasingly being drained by the top players. Without new blood coming in, this industry will eventually be finished.
