According to reports, leading domestic power battery manufacturers announced an ambitious plan — by 2026, sodium battery technology will be fully deployed in battery swapping, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and energy storage.



What does this mean? Simply put, the speed at which sodium-ion batteries are moving from the laboratory to the market is much faster than expected. Currently, lithium batteries remain the dominant force, but sodium batteries are gradually gaining market share due to their cost advantages and abundant resources. According to the plan, in the coming years, we may see a "dual-star shine of sodium and lithium" scenario — two technological routes developing in parallel, each conquering different application scenarios.
