BitMine bets 1 billion dollars on Ethereum as the validator entry queue surpasses the exit queue
Source: Yellow Original Title: BitMine bets $1 billion on Ethereum as validator queue surpasses exit queue
Original Link: BitMine staked 342,560 Ethereum (ETH) worth approximately $1 billion in two days.
The move pushed the Ethereum validator entry queue above the exit queue for the first time since June.
BitMine owns more than 4 million ETH, representing about 3.4 percent of the total Ethereum supply.
What happened
The entry queue now stands at approximately 745,619 ETH with a wait time of 13 days.
The exit queue contains about 360,518 ETH with an eight-day delay.
Both queues were equal, around 460,000 ETH, on Saturday before entry demand accelerated.
BitMine deposited the Ethereum into its proof-of-stake contract (proof-of-stake).
The company plans to launch its Made in America Validator Network to generate yields.
Ethereum staking yields approximately 3 to 5 percent annually.
Why it matters
The change in queues indicates lower selling pressure, as twice as many validators seek to enter rather than exit.
Analysts noted that the last change between entry and exit queues in June preceded Ethereum doubling its price.
The validator exit queue could reach zero by January 3 if current trends continue.
Corporate treasuries are increasingly participating in their Ethereum holdings to earn passive income.
This effectively reduces the available Ethereum supply for sale on the open market.
BitMine owns approximately $12 billion in combined cryptocurrencies and cash.
