Bitcoin ecosystem has new developments. The Portal platform, dedicated to cross-chain gaming interoperability, announced a merger with BLIFE Protocol, and will now operate under the Portal brand. What does this integration mean—Portal not only maintains its focus on cross-chain gaming and interoperability but also incorporates the project resources accumulated by BLIFE in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

There are also notable personnel changes. Veteran in the gaming industry Benjamin Charbit (former Ubisoft Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag director) has officially taken on the role of CEO at Portal, indicating the project's emphasis on game content operations. As an early supporter, Animoca Brands continues to be optimistic about this direction. The entire merger appears to be a move to strengthen the foundation of Web3 gaming infrastructure.

Although... changing the CEO is just a gimmick, data shows that most gaming projects don't last more than 6 months after mergers.

Another merger and financing, this routine is getting more and more familiar. I'm just worried it will end in a flop. Ubisoft's CEO? At least there's a professional in the gaming sector now, much better than before. Portal is holding a big move, absorbing resources, but ultimately, the product still needs to come out. Benjamin's arrival makes me feel more at ease; at least the game design won't be too outrageous. Animoca is still investing, which shows there is indeed room for imagination, but will the Web3 gaming path collapse again? Sounds good, but are there really that many users in the Bitcoin ecosystem's gaming track, or is it just self-hype?

Ubisoft director arrives, now the Bitcoin gaming ecosystem is getting serious Benjamin Charbit taking over Portal is a bold move; coming from a major game studio makes a difference The strategy of merging and consolidating resources is essentially about positioning in the Web3 gaming infrastructure race Animoca continues to increase investment? It's promising, but the key is whether they can actually develop playable games Cross-chain interoperability + Bitcoin ecosystem resources, sounds great, but how will it be implemented?
