Lighter announced a major update at the end of the year—the official launch of the native token LIT.
According to official disclosures, the token distribution structure of LIT is quite balanced: 50% for the ecosystem and 50% for the team and investors. This 50/50 split is common in projects, aiming to balance the interests of early participants and long-term builders.
The most attention-grabbing part is the airdrop. Lighter mentioned that the points from the first and second seasons in 2025 have already accumulated 12.5 million points, which will be airdropped immediately. According to the official statement, this represents 25% of the total value after full dilution. In other words, if half of the 50% ecosystem allocation is released through this wave of airdrops, the remaining 25% allocation has not yet announced a specific schedule.
From this perspective, Lighter has only clarified the airdrop arrangement for the first phase so far; the subsequent release plans still require further clarification. Many community members are also discussing that the timing of the remaining releases will impact token liquidity and market expectations.

lmao 50/50 split is the oldest trick in the playbook—they always say it's "balanced" but actually the math doesn't check out when you trace the vesting schedules

This airdrop still seems a bit uncertain; when the remaining 25% will be released is the key.

A 25% airdrop sounds good, but what about the remaining half? I always feel like the official is keeping us in suspense. Just give us a timeline already.
