Crypto can be profitable, but it’s never just about luck.
Many people seem to make money through market movements, but the two factors that truly support these gains are often overlooked: trading strategies and capital management. Both are indispensable.
**What is the essence of a strategy?**
It’s not about predicting the future, but about preparing for luck to arrive. Without a strategy, there’s no framework—so even in good market conditions, it’s useless—either you don’t know when to take profits, and the gains are quickly lost; or you don’t set stop-losses, and a reversal can wipe you out. Skilled traders think ahead before opportunities arise: how to enter, how to judge trends, how to allocate positions, and how to handle unexpected situations. This is called being prepared for any eventuality.
**Capital management determines how long you can survive.**
Most people who lose money aren’t because they haven’t encountered market opportunities, but for two reasons: either they trade frequently and wear down their principal, or they take a heavy position and get wiped out in one go. This is due to a lack of proper capital planning. How to do it? Use small positions to test the waters, use main positions to seize high-confidence opportunities, and keep a reserve to withstand volatility.
To use another analogy: don’t rush to pick small fruits in an orchard. The real gains come from the last few fully ripe big fruits. But you have to survive until that moment.
**So, in the crypto world, “luck” has never really existed.**
What appears to be luck is actually preparation in advance. You need to build a solid trading framework, control your position sizes, and manage your emotions. Only then, when opportunities truly come, can you handle them, wait for them, and secure your gains.
What I want to emphasize is one thing: how to survive in this market, and then gradually make money.

Those who bet everything on a single shot haven't survived the next cycle.

That's so true. The principal being alive is the hard truth; otherwise, even the best market conditions belong to others.

That's right, most people die from overleveraging.
