Have you ever had this feeling—when the market moves, you chase the long, only to get trapped badly; if you short, it suddenly surges. It really destroys your mindset with the losses.

A couple of days ago, I chased ETH long, and now I’m in a trapped position. I originally thought it was a bottom opportunity, but the slap in the face was too painful. Chasing highs is indeed a high-risk game.

Now I’m just waiting for the market to drop a bit more, to lower the cost or simply exit the position. But honestly, it’s really hard to make a decision psychologically. Stop-loss or hold on—this question is the ultimate test for every trader.

Rather than frequently chasing highs and lows, it’s better to think more about risk management and position planning. Sometimes letting profits run is not the problem; the key is how to stop losses before losses happen.

Haha, this is my daily routine—getting smashed when I chase, being pumped when I’m bearish. I'm really about to go crazy from this market. Honestly, I’m only half-competent at stop-losses. I always hope to break even, but instead, I get more and more trapped. The worst thing is not stopping before losses, then having to accept defeat.

I'm also among those who chased long and got wiped out; now everything looks green to me. Really, the words "stop loss" are easy to say, but implementing them is painfully difficult. Instead of waiting for a rebound, it's better to recognize whether you're a gambler or a trader.

Ah... it's the classic script of chasing highs and getting trapped again. I'm also a long-time victim. Setting stop-losses sounds easy, but actually implementing them is truly hell, and the mental defense line collapses in a second. Rather than waiting for a rebound, it's better to learn to accept defeat. This is the hardest lesson. ETH's recent move is indeed fierce, but greed is the real killer in trading.

The phrase "Stop before the loss" is so impactful... I also often flip back and forth between these two options.

I understand so well, this is our daily routine haha, chasing longs gets violently beaten, chasing shorts explodes and pulls back, a never-ending nightmare. Stop-loss is easy to talk about but really tortures you when doing it, that feeling of watching your account plunge... alright, just wait and see, anyway I'm already trapped. Actually, the key is still to control your position size, don't go all in at once, or your mentality will really blow up. Chasing highs in the end only brings tears, lessons learned everyone. Why bother chasing gains and cutting losses every day, managing risk is more important than anything else, traders who can't stop losses will eventually get wiped out. I also misjudged ETH this time, it’s frustrating, but I have to survive and come out alive. Why do I keep making this mistake again, knowing the bottom is hard to catch but still can't control my hands, really terrible.

Chasing highs is essentially a reentrancy attack in smart contracts—you think you're controlling the logic, but in reality, you've been trapped by the market's recursive calls. Setting stop-loss is as difficult as adding a nonReentrant modifier, but the cost of not doing so can often be a total loss.
