Recently, I saw Delphi's research report indicating that by 2025, overall GameFi funding will plummet by 55%. This figure is indeed eye-catching. However, there is also an interesting comparison—the FIFA Rivals project has become a new benchmark for Web2.5 games.

This case is very representative. FIFA officially partnered with Adidas for endorsement, directly attracting hundreds of millions of football fans through traditional arcade gameplay. Blockchain is only used at the infrastructure level, with no excessive token speculation. Technologically, it uses Avalanche's custom L1, EVM-compatible supporting Solidity development, and high TPS to handle high concurrency scenarios. Sports NFTs, ticket rights, and similar contract needs are actually quite strong, but this area also has high thresholds for regulation and auditing.

To put it simply, the sharp decline in GameFi funding is actually a signal of industry reshuffling. Projects that survive will return to their core—game first, with a reasonable positioning of the chain's role. Projects that rely on token mechanisms to sustain themselves will eventually run into problems.

To be honest, the 55% drop was expected long ago. Purely token-based, garbage projects deserve to die. The move with FIFA Rivals is the right path—big IP combined with underlying technology, this is true integration.

哈,55%暴跌确实触目惊心,但FIFA Rivals这个案例说明白了——还是得有真游戏撑底。

The funding plunge of 55% was long overdue; those worthless projects should have been cleared out earlier.

Haha, a 55% drop is indeed painful, but the FIFA Rivals case really hit the nail on the head. The combination of traditional big companies and blockchain should be played like this. Projects supported by token mechanisms? They should have been gone long ago. It feels like someone in the industry is finally telling the truth. Blockchain infrastructure alone is enough; don’t always think about using tokens to cut the leeks. A fun game is the key; everything else is pointless. Avalanche’s tech stack is also pretty good; high TPS really can compete. Just need to wait a bit longer on the regulatory side.

Great waves wash away the sand; trash projects deserve to die.
