Abstract generation in progress

On December 30, BNB Chain released its 2026 technology roadmap, which will continue to adopt a dual-client strategy: a Geth-based client as a stability anchor for validator compatibility and operational reliability, and a Reth-based client as a high-performance engine for full nodes, archive nodes, and future validator participation. The goals for 2026 include: achieving sub-second finality with 20,000 TPS; further reducing gas fees through software optimization; and advancing consensus and network latency improvements to push finality into deeper sub-second territory. BNB Chain aims to become the next-generation transaction chain supporting extreme performance requirements between 2026 and 2028. Key objectives include: targeting approximately 1 million TPS with sustained execution capacity of about 20 GGas per second; near-instant transaction confirmation with an optimal goal of 150ms; utilizing a hybrid off-chain and on-chain computation architecture with execution proofs and proof; strengthening decentralization through improved validator models and fault tolerance; and achieving top-tier security and production reliability.
