Grayscale Zcash Trust Fees Surge: ZEC Price Soars 15x, Weekly Fees Increase from $32,000 to $440,000

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】Grayscale’s Zcash Trust has recently attracted attention, mainly because its management fees have shown a significant change following the ZEC price trend. Last week, the fee reached $440,000, compared to only $32,000 six months ago—more than ten times higher.

The logic behind this is not complicated. The trust charges an annual management fee of 2.5%, which means that as your asset size grows, the absolute fee will also increase accordingly. During this cycle, ZEC’s price has risen by about 15 times, and the fees collected by Grayscale have nearly increased by 15 times as well. This is essentially a direct reflection of changes in AUM (Assets Under Management).

According to the latest data, this trust currently holds 393,000 ZEC. Judging from the speed of fee growth, ZEC’s recent rally has been quite remarkable, not only boosting the trust’s scale but also significantly increasing Grayscale’s management fee income. This also reflects ongoing institutional investor interest in privacy coins like Zcash.

Gray's transaction fees are really ruthless. When ZEC rises 15 times, the fees also increase 15 times. The cost is ultimately borne by the users.

Grayscale's move is really clever. When ZEC rises 15 times, its fees also increase 15 times. So our gains are halved by management fees?

$440,000 in one week? Grayscale's fee is really unbeatable, extracting a 2.5% annual fee. Even if ZEC rises 15 times, their fee also increases 15 times... I calculated that, at this rate, the holder's profit is almost halved, right?

Grayscale's fees are really a guaranteed profit, ZEC rises 15 times and the fees increase by 15 times, who wouldn't want to do this deal?

okay so grayscale basically printing money on zec appreciation... 2.5% is already criminal but when your bags moon 15x? yeah the math checks out, they're laughing all the way to the bank ngl. nothing shocking here, that's literally how aum-based fees work... but let me explain why retail always gets absolutely gutted on this model

Wow, Gray's move is brilliant. The fee increases 15 times and follows the ZEC price, it's even more direct than harvesting chives.
