Former U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Brian Quintenz has recently been appointed to the SUI Group Board of Directors as an independent director, and has also joined the Audit Committee. This guy has a strong background—he previously led policy work at a16z crypto and was nominated for CFTC Chairman last year, but the nomination was later withdrawn. The move by SUI Group is very clear: they want to leverage his experience in capital markets and regulation to advance SUI’s strategic planning. Currently, SUI Group’s treasury holds about 108 million SUI tokens, and the efficiency of using this reserve is definitely worth watching. Additionally, Michael Selig officially took over as CFTC Chairman in December last year. These personnel changes together reflect a gradual deepening of interaction between the crypto market and policy layers.
