Bitcoin Core Official Release Important Security Notice: Versions 30 and 30.1 have been found to have a serious vulnerability when handling migration of legacy BDB format wallets. Although this situation is extremely rare, in the worst-case scenario, it could lead to wallet files in the node being incorrectly deleted. Without backups, this means funds could be permanently unrecoverable.

Good news is, this vulnerability only affects the process of migrating legacy wallets. If you normally use Bitcoin Core or your wallet is already in the new format, there is no need to worry. Existing wallets will not be affected.

The official team has confirmed that this issue will be fixed in version 30.2. Before the new version is released, it is strongly recommended that all users suspend any wallet migration operations. If you do need to migrate your wallet, the safest approach is to wait for the 30.2 update.
