His core logic is very clear: Ethereum cannot always rely on developers to sustain it; it must truly achieve self-sustainability and self-evolution. In other words, the protocol should be mature enough that even if all core developers exit, the entire ecosystem can still operate stably.

A deeper consideration is the choice of application ecosystem. Vitalik emphasizes prioritizing support for applications with minimal trust—such as persistence tools, which can exist long-term and are less prone to failure; rather than applications that are highly dependent on service providers and prone to collapse.
