Privacy Pools has added a private payment feature in stablecoins.
The supported project by Buterin has added a private payment feature in stablecoins.
The on-chain privacy-focused project Privacy Pools has added support for stablecoins USDT, USDC, and DAI. This will allow the use of assets for private payments.
The 0xbow project, launched by Amin Soleimani and Zach Cole, introduced Privacy Pools in March. The protocol is based on the Association Set Provider concept proposed by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in 2023. It allows for the separation of suspicious funds while maintaining on-chain privacy.
To work with Privacy Pools, users connect the wallet 0xbow and deposit ERC-20 standard tokens. Using zero-knowledge proofs, they can withdraw anonymized assets to new addresses.
0xbow raised funding from Bankless, Number Group, Public Works, and several business angels, including Buterin.
It should be noted that in 2023, the co-founder of Ethereum called privacy "the biggest remaining issue" of the network and proposed a solution.
In 2024, Buterin listed the use cases of cryptocurrencies in everyday life. In particular, he suggested using ZKP mechanisms for verifying "identity, account data, or reputation."
