Wang Xin's New Journey in Web3: From Technological Fairness to AI Agent Integration

From "Tech is Innocent" to "Tech is Fair": Wang Xin's New Journey in Web3

During the golden age of the booming internet in China, KuaiBo was a legend in the hearts of countless people. This video player once captured 80% of the domestic video traffic, serving over 500 million users. Its founder, Wang Xin, experienced the ups and downs of life from peak to valley as a result.

After regaining his freedom, Wang Xin returned to the public eye with a brand new attitude. However, his second venture did not go smoothly, and as the excitement around the new product faded, he gradually faded from people's sight and remained silent for a long time.

Until early 2025, Wang Xin regained his entrepreneurial passion and announced his full commitment to Web3, focusing on the intersection of AI Agents and the crypto economy. He proposed the concept of "technological fairness" and regarded it as the core value of the next stage of entrepreneurship.

In a recent interview, Wang Xin candidly shared his reflections on the past, his dedication to fair technology, and his belief in starting anew in the wave of Web3.

Exclusive Interview with Wang Xin: From Kuai Bo's "Technology is Innocent" to Web3's "Technology is Fair"

Twice Passed by the Blockchain

Wang Xin first encountered Bitcoin in 2011. Out of curiosity about decentralized currency, he read the source code of Bitcoin and mined a few coins casually. Since he was focused on the KuaiBo business at the time, he did not delve deeper into it. At that time, BTC, in his eyes, resembled more of a geek's experiment: highly volatile with uncertain prospects.

"The mindset towards Bitcoin is completely different now." After more than a decade, Wang Xin's view on Bitcoin has undergone a fundamental transformation. On one hand, he sincerely admires the innovation of the blockchain technology behind Bitcoin; on the other hand, Bitcoin has gradually grown from being overlooked to a mainstream asset on par with gold. Wang Xin stated that Bitcoin has established global trust through a community-driven, decentralized architecture, which has overturned his initial doubts and provided him with many insights.

In February 2018, Wang Xin was released and made a "high-profile comeback" during a small gathering with Xiaopeng Motors founder He Xiaopeng and others. At that time, there were many rumors that Wang Xin was going to venture into the blockchain industry.

However, in the end, Wang Xin chose to establish Yun Ge Artificial Intelligence in Shenzhen, diving into the social and AI fields, and successively launched "Toilet" and "Lingge AI." Due to his previous experiences, Wang Xin stated that he could not let the team bear the policy risks. "At that time, if we had fully invested in blockchain, we would probably have crossed the red line," Wang Xin admitted.

Around 2018, although the ICO boom still had some residual heat, regulatory policies were highly unclear, and the domestic blockchain startup environment suddenly tightened. As a responsible entrepreneur towards the team and the company, Wang Xin, after the KuaiBo incident, once requested the company to dismiss employees so that they could apply for labor arbitration to receive compensation. Therefore, during his second startup, he was unwilling to let the team bear any risks, adhering to a responsible attitude. However, a small team within the company still continued to focus on the blockchain industry, maintaining research and learning about the technology.

Return to Web3 after years of silence

After launching the social application "Toilet" and the recruitment product "Lingge AI" which focuses on flexible employment, Wang Xin largely faded from public view for about three to four years. Regarding this period of "retreat", Wang Xin stated that it was intentional and also a result of the environment.

"Lingge AI" and "Toilet" gained attention at the beginning due to Wang Xin's "star entrepreneur" aura, but did not generate much response afterward. Both products failed to meet expectations, with the "Toilet" project even being halted before its launch. This fluctuating experience made him realize the necessity of calm reflection. Wang Xin stated: "This adjustment is very important for someone like me, a serial entrepreneur. I have experienced glory and also gone through lows; in fact, I need a stronger mindset and a clearer goal. By settling myself, I believe I can go further."

During these years of accumulation, Wang Xin has actually invested in quite a few projects, mainly focused on the hardware and AI sectors, such as the flying car company "Xiaopeng Huitian" which is rumored to consider going public recently, as well as a lidar company that occupies a major share of the global market. Wang Xin stated that he did not intend to become an investor, but rather provided some guidance and support at the invitation of friends, and as he deepened his understanding, he became involved in investments. He also revealed that he has not yet participated in investing in Web3 projects.

Although he has not officially entered the field, Wang Xin has always had a deep connection with the blockchain industry. The P2P technology of KuaiBo allows all users to publish shared files and is not easily controlled by a central system, which has similarities with the concept of blockchain networks. In addition, KuaiBo once launched a traffic mining project aimed at gathering idle resources such as personal devices, home bandwidth, and enterprise nodes, optimizing real-time deployment and utilization through cloud computing, essentially utilizing a sharing economy model to create a CDN (Content Delivery Network). To some extent, this is also the prototype of today's DePIN.

With the rapid development of the AI industry and the proliferation of large models like ChatGPT, as well as the gradual clarification of Web3 policies in places like Singapore and Hong Kong, Wang Xin realized that these two technologies, which significantly enhance productivity and improve production relations, can be integrated. This entry point also became his "entry point" into the Web3 industry.

Focusing on the Integration of Web3 and AI Agents

In the field of AI, "Web3+AI" is currently still a niche track, and even some well-known "Web3+AI" projects have been criticized for being "shoddy". In fact, Wang Xin's exploration and understanding of AI may surpass that of many current Web3 practitioners.

Based on his personal entrepreneurial and investment experience, Wang Xin pointed out that small companies and teams face immense cost pressure if they aim to create a general AI platform. Computational expenses often account for 80-90% of the budget, making it difficult for entrepreneurs to sustain. He believes that instead of developing a general platform, it is better to focus on vertical scenarios, creating "small and beautiful" landing products, or taking a different approach by combining AI with Web3 to explore new business models.

"AI is highly centralized, including large models that are super centralized, and it seems to have little connection with Web3. At this point, we are thinking about which part of AI will connect with individuals? That is the AI agent," Wang Xin said.

The essence of the AI Agent is an orchestrated automation workflow that requires human participation for tuning and decision-making. The selection of outcomes by humans essentially participates in the "training" of the Agent. Wang Xin believes that when a certain community or KOL repeatedly optimizes the same type of task, they possess the core value of this Agent. At this point, the ownership and revenue distribution of the Agent should rightfully belong to these contributors themselves. With the public/private key system of Web3, each Agent can have a unique on-chain identity, and smart contracts record every contribution and corresponding revenue in real time, ensuring that "data contributors" truly become "value recipients".

In addition, Wang Xin believes that the two core elements of Web3 are asset issuance and asset transfer. The threshold for the former is becoming lower and lower, while the infrastructure for the latter is becoming increasingly完善. The real challenge lies in how to ensure that the issued assets continue to appreciate in value, and how to allow community participants, operating teams, and ordinary users to find their place in the ecosystem. He pointed out that the solution lies in both enhancing product capability and effectively utilizing Web3 to reshape production relationships, which contains a vast potential for innovation. For example, addressing the pain points of high learning costs in Web3, private key management, and Gas fee settings, to avoid shutting out the vast majority of internet users. Only when the on-chain experience is close enough to people's daily operations can new professions, new communities, and new entrepreneurial opportunities emerge.

What is the future of blockchain gaming?

Apart from the video player, the gaming platform "Kuaiban Game Box" under Kuwo was an important source of income for the company. This platform, which integrates a massive number of games, opened the door to the world of single-player games for countless players, and at its peak, it even "shone brightly" alongside Steam's Chinese region, with monthly active users exceeding one million, surpassing the vast majority of blockchain game projects. However, in the Web3 field, the gaming sector, which had once been highly anticipated, has long been in a sluggish state.

"It is difficult to balance playability and decentralization." When asked about the prospects of Web3 games, Wang Xin admitted that truly enjoyable games do not rely on Web3 for their existence. In fact, whether it's a blockbuster game or classic web games and single-player games from the past, players seek immersion and fun, not the underlying technological implementation. When developers treat blockchain merely as a "fundraising tool" or "token issuance channel" layered on top of games, it often significantly diminishes playability. Players need to learn about private keys, worry about transaction fees, and concern themselves with asset security, which completely deviates from the original intention that "games should bring joy."

"If a new game simultaneously incorporates innovative gameplay and Web3 models, the chance of success is extremely low." Wang Xin pointed out that the core of the game is always the content. No matter how technology iterates, players seek storylines, graphics, controls, and social experiences. The correct approach should be to start from "a certain link." For example, using low-cost on-chain payments to replace traditional credit cards and App Store revenue sharing can save 3-10% in fees, relieving the pressure on game developers for customer acquisition and monetization. Additionally, during the cross-border distribution process, using stablecoins or multi-chain wallets for player deposits, profit sharing, and withdrawals allows developers to reduce costs without expensive advertising expenditures.

When the payment and profit-sharing processes are seamlessly integrated into the game in a "frictionless" manner, players not only enjoy a traditional gaming experience but also unknowingly utilize Web3 infrastructure. Meanwhile, developers will reduce intermediary profit-sharing, and after gaining more revenue, they will be able to continuously offer better products. "So how to make them profitable, I think this should be achieved through changes in these production relationships of Web3."

Why support the Meme coin Fair3?

After entering the Web3 industry, Wang Xin's identity seems no longer that of a serial entrepreneur, but rather a supporter and evangelist. He often shares his views on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology on social media, and sometimes directly mentions Fair3, which he is supporting. According to Wang Xin, this is not a "project" in the traditional sense, but an ecosystem centered around the core concept of "technological fairness."

Wang Xin stated that Fair3 originated from a pure Meme coin. After a group of core members (the CTO team) took over, they began to think about a deeper vision: not just the cultural attributes of the community, but to build a truly decentralized ecosystem that allows every individual to benefit from participation. Fair3 aims to leverage the power of Web3 to challenge the various injustices caused by centralized algorithms and platform monopolies in the traditional internet, transforming the culture of "building a tower from sand" into tangible ecological value.

"Every change in production relations throughout history has addressed the core issues of its time: agriculture solved food supply, and industry solved capital," Wang Xin further stated. In today's "knowledge phase" and "attention phase," the monopoly of data and algorithms has led to the exploitation of ordinary users and content creators. Mainstream platforms take high commissions from creators, with e-commerce customer acquisition costs reaching 30-40%, and content distribution taking as much as 90%. These are unfair practices. What Fair3 aims to do is to gather the "grains of sand" from countless small individuals, through community cohesion and voice, to make unfairness visible, and to leverage decentralized technology to achieve a transition from cultural construction to ecological implementation.

For example, the CTO team has organized several small-scale Meme culture creation and sharing activities in the community.
