The Vietnamese community is not just saying GM, but Welcome Back.
"May I ask, isn't Lingnan not good? Yet I say: Where my heart is at peace, is my hometown." (Before the Tang Dynasty, northern Yue was part of Lingnan. "Ding Feng Bo" was written during the Song Dynasty, referring to Guangnan. However, the similar artistic conception cannot be ignored.)
Hanoi and GM Vietnam have really treated me well, and I'm very grateful to be part of it again this year. (And please, really don't send me videos of dancing on stage anymore, okay?)
Just 14 months ago, I came to Vietnam for the first time to attend a summit in the cryptocurrency industry. At that time, I was just a passerby; Vietnam was neither my market, nor did I know anyone there. To attract the audience, I even borrowed a bad internet joke from the TV series "IT Crowd" during my speech (unfortunately, not many people laughed).
Fast forward to this GM Vietnam. Old friends and new faces actively came to greet; some stayed specifically to listen to my speech; the organizing committees were very attentive; friends recognized me at the afterparty with over a thousand people (of course, the vest had its perks); and someone even surprisingly gifted me a bouquet of flowers. This time, I truly felt a sense of "vesting."
Of course, this welcome is not only a response to me personally, but also a reflection of the silent efforts we have accumulated at Gate.io over the past 14 months.
I often think, "When you are moving at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, are you running very fast, or are you actually just sitting quietly on a high-speed train?"
I believe that the door is that high-speed train. But at the same time, I have to do my best to run on the train (of course, it's a metaphor) and keep up with the rhythm of this train. Really, it's running without slacking off every kilometer.
Another heartwarming moment at the conference was when a friend told me she remembered me discussing a similar topic in Hong Kong. For me, this was one of the best affirmations of the entire weekend:
👉 Because she not only came to listen once, but twice to the keynote (moved).
👉 Represents that my topic really leaves an impression.
👉 It also represents that everyone is starting to look forward to me bringing something a little different to each keynote — and that is precisely my goal every time I prepare a speech.
This week it's time to get back to business instead of continuing to dance. Vietnam, see you next time!
