The appeals court approved Ripple and SEC's request to withdraw their appeals. Judge Torres's August 2024 ruling is in effect: sales of XRP on exchanges are not a securities violation, but institutional sales are a violation. Ripple will pay a fine of $125 million. The price of XRP rose by 5% to $3.06.
