**Decentralized finance protocol MakerDAO (MKR) has announced the launch of two new altcoins.
A post published by MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen on the project's official governance forum on March 12 featured a remarkable launch called "Endgame".
The launch will aim to replace the network's current official stablecoin DAI and governance token MKR with two new altcoins. According to the statement, the first phase of Endgame will start in the summer of 2024.
DAI and MKR will continue to maintain their current roles, but users will have the option to upgrade them to NewStable and NewGovToken. As part of Endgame, new staking and yield farming features will be added to the ecosystem in stages.
According to data from CoinGecko, MKR, which took action with the team's announcement, quickly rose 15% from $2,519 to $2,906.
