The Movement Mainnet is set to officially launch in mid-February. Chain News has also compiled the latest White Paper from January 23 this year, combined with an interview with Rushi, co-founder of Movement, in Dubai, to give readers a specific introduction to Movement's positioning and features. Those interested in the ecosystem can also refer to the author's article.

What are the characteristics of Movement?

Move-based EVM sidechain: Despite the multiple changes in Movement's positioning, including narratives such as building Layer 1, Ethereum L2, bridge chain, etc., it ultimately positioned as a Move-based EVM sidechain. Previous reports have elaborated on the related positioning issues:

Move Executor: Supports both MoveVM and EVM transactions simultaneously.

MoveVM: The blockchain architecture is divided into execution layer, data availability layer, etc. Sui and Aptos also use MoveVM in the execution layer.

FFS Quick Finality: Essentially similar to sidechain's own PoS, FFS's advantage lies in its fast confirmation speed compared to ZK and Optimistic Rollup. ZK-rollup usually takes 20-30 minutes for finality. Optimistic-rollup takes about a week for finality. FFS can achieve '2/3' in a matter of seconds.
