Houston Morgan, head of market and protocol relations at ShapeShift, told the media that JPMorgan Chase closed its business bank account related to ShapeShift DAO on November 22 and notified that his personal account will also be closed within this week. Morgan stated that the operation came without any warning, and the balance at the time of the account freeze was about $40,000. He pointed out that the bank's customer service did not specify the reason, only stating that the decision to terminate the cooperation was to “protect the Chase financial system.” A week before this incident, Strike CEO Jack Mallers also had his bank account closed by Chase and faced refusal of some deposits; as of now, JPMorgan Chase has not responded to requests for comment.
