Nanyang Technological University teams up with 0G to invest 5 million SGD to establish a decentralized AI research center.

[Crypto World] Nanyang Technological University recently made a major move—partnering with the decentralized AI infrastructure project Zero Gravity (0G) to invest 5 million SGD in establishing a decentralized AI technology research center.

This is 0G’s first collaboration with a global university. The research focus is quite hardcore: decentralized AI training, integrating blockchain into model alignment, and exploring useful proof-of-work consensus mechanisms. It sounds very technical, but the core idea is simple—allow AI to no longer be confined within a few big corporations’ closed environments, but to become more open and transparent, enabling anyone to observe and verify.

The project will run for four years. The plan includes workshops, hackathons, scholarships for students, and open-source projects. Early results are expected within two years, targeting applications in finance, healthcare, and intelligent infrastructure.

Last year, 0G received over $325 million in funding commitments, including a $40 million seed round led by Hack VC. Now, with the partnership with NTU to establish a research center, it seems they aim to establish a strong presence for decentralized AI in Singapore.
