Once candidates are selected and deemed suitable for advancement, Biogen assumes full responsibility for development, manufacturing, and potential commercialization.

The deal structure includes additional financial incentives for Dayra, with milestone payments contingent upon developmental progress across each program. Biogen also maintains the option to acquire development candidates from Dayra, with payment terms tied to individual program success metrics.

The market reacted positively to this strategic move. Biogen shares demonstrated strength in pre-market trading, rising over 4% following the announcement. The stock had already gained 4.23% on Friday, closing at $175.30.

The company had incorporated the $50 million upfront payment into its revised 2025 guidance, which was released in October.
