Why haven't I bought a single gram of gold up to now???
This chart actually reveals many issues. A friend asked me why I haven't bought gold.
I said I have actually discussed before why not to buy it. To put it simply, it's because the returns are not good enough, not as good as US stocks. Why should I buy it?
Even from 2023 to 2024, gold's returns are still not as good as US stocks.
Here I want to share a core idea with everyone: When buying a product, you should look at its past return rate, which will greatly reduce your failure probability. How to understand this?
It means when you buy a certain product, you can't just look at this year's return. You need to look back at the past 5 or 10 years of returns to broadly predict this year's return, right? You can't just see a product has risen this year and then buy it. Where is your core philosophy then? What if, just what if, it drops next year? You also can't predict its trend next year, you just can't predict!
But if there is a product that has maintained a good growth rate over the past 10 years, we can roughly predict that it will still do well next year. Right? This logic is not hard to understand, is it???
So, look at gold. Its return rate has been poor for so long, at least not as good as US stocks. That's why I don't buy it!
And this year it surged so strongly, if we chase the high, it’s very easy to get caught in it! Just like I mentioned in my tweet yesterday: if you want stability, US stocks are still the best, and then you can buy BTC as a leverage. But if you overly focus on gold, then your investment theory is somewhat misplaced!$BTC $ETH #现货黄金再创新高
