Many people think that trading contracts is just about predicting the right direction, and profits will naturally follow. But I have to be honest—this idea is too naive.
When I first got into trading contracts, I lost 800,000 in just half a year. The most heartbreaking part was that those few market judgments were completely correct, yet I still ended up losing everything. Only after reviewing the settlement statements did I realize that I wasn't actually losing to the market itself, but being actively exploited by the strategies of the big players.
Now I’ve summarized these pitfalls into three deadly traps:
**First trap: Reacting to every wind, rushing into the market**
As soon as the market shows a hint, I rush in with full position. And what happens? The big players quickly counter with a spike, and I get swept out. It’s like being lured into a pre-set trap.
**Second trap: Rigid stop-losses, just giving away money**
I used to stubbornly set 3% or 5% stop-losses, thinking it was safe. But the high volatility of the contract market doesn’t work that way. I got stopped out three times in a row on false breakouts, watching the market surge in my predicted direction, but my account was gone.
**Third trap: Going all-in, gambling with your life**
Going all-in is like handing your life over to the market. Even the most accurate judgment can’t withstand a few reverse K-lines. That night I got liquidated, and when I saw my balance drop to zero, I broke down completely.
After these painful lessons, I set three strict rules for myself:
First, never go all-in. Divide your position into three parts and deploy gradually.
Second, keep your stop-loss alive. Don’t rigidly stick to fixed levels; adjust according to market fluctuations.
Third, wait when uncertain. When the market is unclear, stay in cash and never force a trade.
With these three rules, I gradually moved from frequent liquidations to stable profits. In a year, my account tripled.
Those who want to survive and make money in the crypto world are never the ones who see the right direction most accurately. The real winners are those who last long enough. I’ve already walked this path, and I hope you won’t take the detours I’ve taken.
