Year-end is here. Attention, friends in China: if you are being interviewed because of U freeze cards, here are a few things you must know.
In case you are invited for a "tea session" one day, don't panic. Think it through in advance so you'll have a clear understanding when the time comes.
First, let me clarify that many times the situation can be quite complicated. I am only explaining based on a single freeze card behavior, personally tested. Also, each place and each "uncle" in charge may handle things differently, but the basic principles remain the same: no hiding, no talking too much. You should know that if you've really committed a serious offense, they can find out without asking.
1⃣ A seemingly intimidating question: "Virtual currencies are not protected by law, do you know that?"
Lack of legal protection does not mean you are breaking the law. You can openly admit it, acknowledge the risk, and accept responsibility willingly.
2⃣ If the exchange issues U and you received black money, you need to return it.
In most cases, if they can trace you, it’s because your bank card received black money, and the victim reported it. All the flow of these funds is marked as black money. Normally, you should return the money, follow the proper procedures, and finally sign a reconciliation document with them—then there’s no problem.
Important points to note:
🔸 You can honestly say that your U is from legitimate investments, including airdrops, participating in project development, trading coins, etc. These are all fine.
🔸 Large exchanges have compensation measures, don’t forget. Prepare the final signed reconciliation document or recordings with "uncle" in charge as proof. You can ask customer service in advance.
3⃣ What happens if you don’t go? Will your bank card automatically unfreeze?
First, understand that bank card freezes are divided into: bank freeze and judicial freeze.
You can call the bank; they will tell you. If it’s a judicial freeze, they will give you the contact details of a certain "uncle," then you can contact him to cooperate in unfreezing the bank card.
If it’s inconvenient to go, and only one bank card is frozen, it’s okay to wait for 6 months. Usually, such cases end in 6 months; the money in the card will be automatically deducted, and the card will be restored for use.
However, this card will be permanently marked. Any future suspicious funds can be frozen and checked at any time, which is very troublesome. It’s recommended to cancel it.
Of course, there are special cases:
🔹 All your bank cards are frozen. In this case, you must handle it. This indicates the situation is quite serious, possibly related to your previous actions. It’s best to find someone knowledgeable to accompany you and prepare thoroughly.
🔹 Your single bank card remains frozen after 6 months. You need to assess the impact on your future life. You won’t be able to open other bank accounts for a while due to this incident, but it may recover after many years.
4⃣ Finally, a word of advice to everyone: be cautious when dealing with U. Follow the exchange’s rules strictly. Those questions like "Can I use a friend’s card because mine is limited?" are a definite no!
Think carefully about the consequences. Don’t risk your account and reputation for small gains—it’s not worth it.
