On-chain investing gets a fresh take with Helios Layer1—a network that bakes portfolios, strategies, and long-term thinking right into its L1 foundation. Rather than bolting these capabilities on top, they're woven into the core. It's a different approach to how Layer1s typically operate.

Meanwhile, self-custodial finance is getting more accessible. useTria is building the kind of everyday app people don't dread opening. The emphasis here is simple: actual usability mixed with real control over your own funds. No middleman friction, just straightforward operations that feel natural.

Huh? Putting the portfolio directly into L1? That's a pretty good idea, saves users from messing around on their own. I heard that the experience with Tria is indeed smooth, but can self-custody wallets really become popular... I'm still a bit skeptical. Helios' approach is actually about simplifying complex things; native support is much better than post-integration. Finally, someone is seriously working on self-custody, no more being exploited by centralized exchanges. If these two projects can truly deliver a good experience, they might change a lot of people's minds.

Helios' approach is indeed different, directly incorporating the investment framework into the L1... but can it really be implemented?

NGL Helios incorporating the investment logic into L1 is quite a clever move; finally, someone thought of it.

Helios directly embeds the investment logic into the L1, which is indeed an interesting approach. But you won't know if it really works until it's implemented and tested. The useTria part really resonated with me. Apps that are truly easy to self-custody are indeed scarce, most are overly complicated.

Helios sounds pretty good, but I don't know how it actually performs in practice... Self-custody is the way to go.
