Decentralized crypto trading platform Lighter had an incident on December 30th. It happened to be the day its native token LIT officially launched, and users reported issues with withdrawals—the system kept showing an error message "L2 withdrawal too many." External analysis suggests that the blockchain network's processing capacity at the time may have been insufficient, leading to transaction congestion.
The design purpose of the LIT token is to build a bridge between traditional finance and DeFi. Its first day performance was quite good, with the price reaching as high as $4.04, but the good times didn't last long. It then started to plunge, dropping over 30%, and is currently trading stably around $2.77. This incident highlights how important the stability of exchange infrastructure is during the launch of new tokens. Whether the platform can operate stably during high traffic periods directly affects user confidence and token performance.
