CleanSpark – a Bitcoin mining company in Las Vegas – is expanding into the field of artificial intelligence with plans to build AI data centers alongside its crypto mining operations. The company has just won the bid for a 100 MW site in Cheyenne, Wyoming, surpassing Microsoft due to its deployment speed of just 6 months. CEO Matt Schultz stated that CleanSpark is “making money from megawatts,” using Bitcoin mining to expand energy infrastructure and then transitioning to AI computing. The company currently operates 1.03 GW and plans to increase it to 1.7 GW. CleanSpark is also partnering with Submer to develop an “AI campus” across North America, leveraging land and direct power advantages. CleanSpark's stock rose over 100% in 2025, with third-quarter revenues reaching 198.6 million USD. Schultz asserts that AI does not replace but complements Bitcoin mining.
