Alex Gluchowski, founder of zkSync, posted on the X platform that in order for Ethereum to reach the masses, L2 must also be trustless. Blockchain is a highly adversarial environment where conflicts of interest are everywhere, and even the most sincere actors may have to compromise or be forced to do evil against their will. Trusting the core team is not a substitute for trustless networks.
