WSJ: U.S. Federal Trade Commission Sues Several Intermediaries for Manipulating Insulin Sales

On September 21st, according to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has sued pharmacy chain CVS, Cigna, and UnitedHealth for their involvement in an illegal kickback scheme that inflated the price of insulin. The FTC has filed a lawsuit in federal court, accusing CVS’s Caremark, Cigna’s Express Scripts, and UnitedHealth’s Optum Rx of accepting bribes from drug manufacturers to keep low-cost insulin off the approved drug list.
