The investigation into illegal sports betting in Turkey continues to escalate, with the crypto industry being drawn into the case. Galatasaray's former vice chairman and real estate developer Erden Timur, with a net worth of over $550 million, has been formally arrested on suspicion of money laundering. Prosecutors stated that his real estate company NEF had suspicious financial transactions with involved parties through a crypto platform. The case has been handed over to the judicial department responsible for counter-terrorism financing and anti-money laundering. (cryptopolitan)
